Fourth of July weekend we headed south to the N-Bar Ranch to visit our friend Bob, the lovely Victoria and our hosts Margaret and Preston. Ingrid had her fill, or at least an abundance of cats, dogs (Dude, her favorite, was just the right size), horses (and a mule), cows, and chickens to delight in. Not to mention more open space than she knew what to do with. Actually, she knew just what to do: climb down the porch steps and take off... usually downhill to the horses. The path of least resistance is often the right one.
