We got a great tip for an alternate route back home from the ranch. Super scenic, not super highway. We stopped to take in the lava falls. Ingrid was remarkably patient considering how hot the sun and lava were. I kept saying "lava, lava" and soon Ingrid was saying it too. Except she says "yaga, yaga." In the coming days, many things were identified as lava: not just the lava that we brought from the park (don't turn us in, please), but also other rocks in our yard (some of which turned out to be lava on closer inspection), giant pine cones in San Francisco and potatoes in our kitchen.

LAVA! (4th of July Weekend)
We got a great tip for an alternate route back home from the ranch. Super scenic, not super highway. We stopped to take in the lava falls. Ingrid was remarkably patient considering how hot the sun and lava were. I kept saying "lava, lava" and soon Ingrid was saying it too. Except she says "yaga, yaga."
